Intern (m/f/d) Robotics System Integration

The Industrial Automation & Robotic Applications Department of Agile Robots is looking for a Intern (m/f/d) Robotics System Integration, who will support the integration and testing of robot platforms for customer projects, working across software integration on both simulated and real systems.

  • Testing & Validation: Test and validate software components and system behavior in simulation and on the real robot, performing structured debugging and performance analysis to identify limitations before and during deployment.
  • Sim-to-Real Consistency: Help verify that behavior validated in simulation holds up when the same software runs on the physical robot, flagging discrepancies.
  • Test Tooling: Contribute to reusable test scripts or debugging tools that can be reused across multiple project setups.
  • Academic Background: Currently enrolled in a Master's programme in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Programming: Practical experience in Python and/or C++ for robotics system development.
  • Development Environment: Practical experience with Linux and Git in a robotics software workflow.
  • Robot Fundamentals: Working understanding of robot kinematics, coordinate frames, and URDF structure, ideally with practical experience on physical systems.
  • Documentation: Ability to write structured, reproducible technical notes and maintain organized experiment logs.
  • System Integration: Familiarity with hardware-software integration and debugging in complex robotic systems.
  • Validation Design: Experience designing structured tests and validation workflows for robotics applications.
  • KUKA Robots: Practical experience with KUKA robots and KRL programming.
  • Languages: Proficient in German (written and spoken).
  • Practical learning opportunities to complement your studies.
