What You Can Expect
The Manager, Internal Communications supports the execution of Zimmer Biomet’s internal communications strategy. Reporting to the Associate Director, Internal Communications, this role contributes to the day-to-day management of global communications channels, editorial content development, and operational support for strategic events and programs. The Manager serves as a hands-on contributor and collaborative partner to internal clients, helping ensure consistent, compelling, and timely communications that connect team members to Zimmer Biomet’s Purpose, Mission, Values, and business strategy.
This role is expected to have a weekly, onsite hybrid schedule with some weeks having as little as 1 day/week onsite and at other times up to 5 days/week onsite.
How You'll Create Impact
- Support the management and day-to-day operations of Zimmer Biomet’s global internal communications channels, including Viva Engage, The Circle (global intranet), ZB News, and digital signage networks, ensuring content is current, relevant, and aligned with enterprise messaging priorities.
- Write, edit, and publish engaging content for internal audiences across multiple channels, including ZB News articles, Viva Engage posts, intranet features, email communications, and digital signage content, adhering to Associated Press style and Zimmer Biomet brand guidelines.
- Coordinate the enterprise internal editorial calendar, managing content submissions, scheduling, and prioritization to support timely and consistent communications delivery.
- Monitor channel performance through analytics and reporting; track engagement metrics, identify trends, and recommend data-driven improvements to increase team member reach and engagement.
- Provide operational and communications support for high-visibility global programs and events, including the Quarterly Global Town Hall, Founders Day, Tidings of Joy, and the Global Leadership Summit, assisting with content development, logistics, and post-event follow-up.
- Develop and distribute event-related content across global channels, including pre-event promotions, live coverage, and post-event recaps that reinforce key messages and drive team member engagement.
- Serve as a communications point of contact for assigned internal clients, advising on messaging approach, channel selection, and timing to support business objectives.
- Execute content repurposing strategies to extend the reach and lifespan of communications generated through publications, events, and enterprise programs, including Insights in Motion.
- Support the global content owner community by providing guidance, training, and quality assurance to ensure consistency and adherence to brand and editorial standards across all platforms.
- Leverage emerging technologies, including AI tools, to enhance content creation, analytics, and overall communications effectiveness and efficiency.

What Makes You Stand Out
- Communications & Content Development: Strong written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability in writing, editing, and content creation; solid knowledge of grammar, spelling, and Associated Press style; ability to distill complex concepts into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Digital Platforms & Technology: Experience with intranet platforms (e.g., SharePoint), social collaboration tools (e.g., Viva Engage), content management systems, and digital signage; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to adapt to new and emerging communications technologies.
- Project Management & Execution: Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Analytics & Measurement: Proficiency with communications analytics and channel performance measurement tools; ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights to improve communications effectiveness and engagement.
- Interpersonal & Professional Skills: Collaborative, relationship-oriented approach with the ability to build strong partnerships and influence without authority; high degree of discretion and judgment when handling sensitive or confidential information; strong problem-solving capabilities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience is required
- Experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field within a large, matrixed organization preferred.
- Experience in the life sciences, medical device, or MedTech industry preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with internal communications channels, editorial content development, and event communications support preferred.
Travel Expectations
- Occasional overnight domestic and international up to 25% annually
