Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented International Business Director to lead the company's global business expansion and revenue growth across key international markets, including Asia-Pacific (APAC), Europe, the Middle East & Africa (EMEA), and North America.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing international go-to-market strategies, expanding strategic customer relationships, building high-performing regional organizations, and driving sustainable business growth in the semiconductor industry.
Working closely with executive leadership, product management, marketing, engineering, and channel partners, the International Business Director will play a critical role in accelerating customer acquisition, influencing product strategy, and strengthening the company's global market position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute international business strategies to achieve sustainable revenue growth across assigned global regions, especially Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
2. Define and implement regional Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies, including market segmentation, customer targeting, value proposition development, and competitive positioning.
3. Identify, develop, and manage strategic relationships with global OEMs, EMS providers, distributors, and ecosystem partners to expand market presence and accelerate business growth.
4. Build, lead, and mentor high-performing regional sales, marketing, and field application engineering teams while fostering a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
5. Expand and optimize the global channel network by recruiting, enabling, and managing distributors, sales representatives, and strategic partners.
6. Drive customer engagement from opportunity identification through design-in and design-win, ensuring long-term revenue generation and customer retention.
7. Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to translate customer requirements, market trends, and competitive intelligence into product roadmap recommendations.
8. Develop pricing strategies, commercial programs, and partner incentive initiatives that maximize revenue, profitability, and market competitiveness.
9. Lead international marketing initiatives, including industry exhibitions, digital marketing campaigns, and joint marketing programs with channel partners to strengthen brand awareness and demand generation.
10. Establish regional business operations and improve organizational capabilities to support international expansion and customer responsiveness.
11. Monitor regional business performance, sales pipeline, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular business updates to executive management.
12. Work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, finance, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure successful execution of global business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly in the MCU sector, with significant experience in international sales, business development, product marketing, or commercial leadership.
- Proven track record of driving business growth across international markets, particularly Europe and North America.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing global Go-to-Market strategies for semiconductor products.
- Strong experience engaging with global OEMs, EMS companies, distributors, and strategic channel partners.
- Experience leading customer engagements that result in successful design-ins, design wins, and long-term business growth.
- Solid understanding of mixed-signal ICs, analog technologies, embedded systems, microcontrollers, or related semiconductor technologies.
- Experience managing pricing strategies, business negotiations, and commercial agreements while maintaining healthy profit margins.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience interacting with executive-level customers and business partners.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and/or Korean will be an advantage for candidates who need to communicate with customers, partners, and stakeholders in relevant international markets.
