Overview:
This is a three-month paid internship with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance during the internship period.
As a DevOps Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in optimizing and automating software development, deployment, and infrastructure management processes. You will work closely with development and operations teams to build foundational DevOps skills while contributing to the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of the organization's IT infrastructure. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn industry best practices, work with modern DevOps tools, and grow into a full-time DevOps role based on your performance.
Responsibilities
- CI/CD and Automation: Learn and assist in automating build, testing, and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Understand and use tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Familiarize with Docker and Kubernetes for managing and deploying applications in containerized environments.
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work with developers, system admins, and teams to integrate DevOps practices, troubleshoot, and ensure smooth environment transitions.
- Security, Monitoring & Learning: Learn security best practices, implement monitoring/logging solutions, and stay updated on DevOps trends and tools.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or relevant IT engineering fields.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services such as EC2, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, and IAM is a plus.
- Foundational knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Exposure with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) is an advantage.
- Scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for learning and Strong communication and collaboration skills.
