Internship Project coordinator - Electrical/Civil engineering (Winter 2027)
Summary
Winter 2027 internship at EBC, a construction company: the intern supports project managers on a job site in Campbell River, handling daily works monitoring, coordination with foremen/subcontractors/engineers, scheduling, permits, material orders, and BIM conflict detection. Open to civil or electrical engineering students; requires a 4-month on-site commitment.
- Monitor works daily through the technical and administrative tasks assigned to you.
- Plan and oversee works coordination with foremen, surveyors, superintendents, engineers, project managers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and follow up on technical issues in plans and specifications.
- Prepare, monitor, analyse and manage subcontractor files.
- Contribute to contract negotiations when necessary.
- Contribute to project scheduling.
- Obtain permits and authorizations required to carry out work.
- Plan and check material orders as needed.
- Follow-up on "Conflict detection" when the project is executed in BIM.
- Assist, review and communicate technical questions and change requests to the customer representative and follow-up when required.
- Plan, supervise and contribute to the development of appropriate construction methods and processes per contractual requirements, while respecting current health and safety requirements.
- Participate in site meetings with various project stakeholders.
- Follow up and manage deficiencies at the end of the project.
- Contribute to traffic management when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering, in progress.
- Relevant experience in engineering or construction is an important asset.
- A driver's license and/or ability to travel may be required in some cases.
- Agrees to work 4 months on site (Campbell River).
- Is versatile and adaptable.
