JOB SUMMARY: : A position as an Interpreter/Educational Assistant for Deaf students in an elementary/high school setting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• fluent user of American Sign Language (ASL)
• experience with Deaf culture and the Deaf community
• a preference for a graduate from an ASL interpreter training program
• training and/or experience with students in the elementary educational setting
• skills in mentoring children with a variety of learning needs and language levels
• effective in working as a team member with Teacher of the Deaf, Deaf role model, classroom teachers, and other ASL interpreters
• successful related experience

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• As per Collective Agreement.
• 6.0 hrs/day
• To begin a.s.a.p. (and continue to June 29, 2027 (if an elementary assignment) of June 30, 2027 (if a high school assignment), or earlier if the needs of the division change)
• Salary range - $31.56 - $36.20 per hour
