Inventory Control Manager

The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory control processes within their assigned location. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal inventory levels, minimizing costs, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency. They will develop and implement inventory management strategies, monitor inventory levels, coordinate with various departments, and utilize inventory management software to maintain accurate records.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, analytical, and highly organized, with a strong ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions. They possess excellent leadership and communication skills, enabling them to effectively manage a team and collaborate across departments. Proficiency in inventory management software and a thorough understanding of supply chain principles are essential, along with an initiative-taking and adaptable approach to changing business needs.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures and strategies for the clients’ entire inventory profile to maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements. Generate regular reports to inform management decisions.
  • Collaborate with a variety of departments, and logistics teams to align inventory levels with business needs and customer demand.
  • Manage and assign bin locations, manage the physical location and layout of racking, direct the location of put always.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track and manage inventory levels, locations, and movements. Perform cycle counts as defined by client SLAs to ensure the accuracy of inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide ideas/insights to refine established procedures to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency, improve quality, or reduce cost.
Secondary Functions:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Group O policies related to inventory control.
  • Supervise and train inventory control staff, establishing annual development and performance objectives fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
  • Assist in the coordination of building space allocation and layout, and facility expansion.
  • Assist with the preventive maintenance of all facility equipment.

Education/Certifications:
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education/Certifications:
  • Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field
  • Additional certifications in inventory management or warehouse operations
Experience:
  • Required: Minimum 3+ years of experience in warehouse inventory control
  • Experience with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Proven experience in inventory management or supply chain operations, with a history of successfully implementing inventory control strategies.
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse operations
