Inventory Control Specialist
Overview:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing daily cycle counts, and ensuring inventory transactions are accurately processed within the ERP system. This position plays a critical role in supporting warehouse operations by maintaining inventory integrity, investigating discrepancies, and driving continuous improvements in inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
- Process inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, overages, and potential inventory risks.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Production, and Warehouse teams to resolve inventory issues.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, labeling, and handling of inventory materials.
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as the site lead for inventory audits, acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors and ensuring timely completion of all inventory-related audit requirements.
- Coordinate and lead inventory-related activities during external audits, including preparing documentation, facilitating inventory counts, researching variances, and responding to auditor requests.
- Support annual physical inventory counts and reconciliation efforts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and warehouse best practices.
