We are seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our new and pre-owned vehicle inventory. This position will be responsible for keeping inventory accurate, organized, properly merchandised, and moving efficiently from arrival to sale-ready status.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock in new and pre-owned vehicles accurately and promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory information in the DMS and inventory systems.
- Manage vehicle keys/key fobs and maintain lot organization.
- Ensure vehicles are photographed and have accurate online descriptions and equipment information.
- Inspect and properly book out pre-owned vehicles.
- Perform pre-owned vehicle appraisals using current market data and vehicle condition.
- Determine whether pre-owned vehicles should be retailed or wholesaled.
- Open and manage repair orders for pre-owned vehicle reconditioning.
- Review repair estimates and control reconditioning expenses.
- Coordinate vehicles through Service, Detail, Body Shop, and outside vendors to minimize downtime.
- Manage P.O.s and sublet vendors for reconditioning work.
- Monitor new and pre-owned inventory aging and recommend pricing or disposition changes.
- Work closely with Sales, Service, Detail, and Accounting to maintain accurate and sale-ready inventory.
Performance Expectations
- Maintain a 60-day turn on pre-owned inventory.
- Proactively address aging units before reaching 60 days.
- Minimize the time from vehicle acquisition/arrival to frontline-ready status.
- Maintain accurate physical and system inventory.
- Control pre-owned reconditioning costs and turnaround time.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely online merchandising.
- Make sound appraisal and wholesale decisions that protect dealership profitability.
