Investigative Support Specialist

This position is in the Department of War Office of Inspector General (DoW OIG), Office of the Deputy Inspector General for Administrative Investigations (DIG-AI), Investigations of Senior Officials (ISO) Directorate. The ISO Directorate is responsible for the conduct and oversight of investigations into allegations against senior officials within the DoW.

Manages investigative complaints i.e. intake, analysis, records management, status tracking and reporting/monitoring action and case closeout.

Reviews incoming complaints and establishes records, enters data into case tracking system and routes complaints appropriately.

Performs quality reviews examining thoroughness, completeness, organization, documentation and data to ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Maintains investigative records, ensuring security, retention/disposal consistent with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) guidance.

Processes Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for investigative records in accordance with Agency guidelines and timeframes and monitors incoming and outgoing Congressional correspondence.
