The Role:

As an entry-level Investment Analyst, you will support the investment team across the full deal lifecycle - helping to source and screen new opportunities, conducting company and market research, building financial and data-driven analyses, and monitoring portfolio companies.

This is a hands-on graduate development role designed for a high-potential fresh graduate who is passionate about technology, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship, and who will grow into a core member of the Vertex Growth investment team. You will work closely with, and learn directly from, the General Partners and senior investment professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing and screening new investment opportunities, including researching sectors, attending relevant networking events, and helping to identify promising founders and companies.
• Support the deal team across all aspects of due diligence - market sizing and mapping, industry and competitor research, customer and management reference checks, and review of transaction materials.
• Conduct company research and help build financial, technical and valuation analyses to support investment recommendations.
• Leverage AI tools and modern data techniques to accelerate research, synthesise information, and improve the speed and quality of analysis.
• Help prepare investment theses, memos and presentation materials for the investment team and Investment Committee.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking the performance of portfolio companies post-investment and preparing required reports.
• Support portfolio value-creation initiatives and help maintain accurate, up-to-date information in archives and portfolio management systems.
• Help promote Vertex Growth within the startup, technology and venture ecosystem.

Requirements:

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related technical discipline, with a strong academic record.
• Foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, and an understanding of how AI technologies are applied in real-world products and businesses.
• Proficient and adept in using AI/Agentic tools to research, analyse, automate and enhance day-to-day work.
• Demonstrable interest in, or exposure to, entrepreneurship - for example founding or working at a startup, university entrepreneurship programmes, hackathons, accelerator/venture involvement, or building your own products and projects.
• Prior internship exposure to venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, startups or technology is a plus, but not required.
• Genuine curiosity about technology, digital innovation and emerging platforms, whether from studies, internships or personal interest.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and research skills, with the ability to identify relevant issues and draw sound conclusions and recommendations.
• Comfortable handling data and working with spreadsheets (Excel); able to present data clearly and intelligently.
• Clear, succinct and engaging written and verbal communication skills in English, and confidence in presenting ideas in a group setting.
• Team player with strong interpersonal and networking skills, and a proactive attitude toward reaching out, learning and staying on top of new developments.
• Organised, efficient, self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
