Investment Risk - Analyst

As an Investment Risk Analyst within the APAC Asset Management Risk team, you help identify, assess, and manage risks across alternative investment / fixed income portfolios. You work closely with investment professionals and partners across regions to provide insights that improve portfolio construction and risk transparency. Job responsibilities:

  • Provide independent risk oversight for portfolios across APAC, with coverage across Fixed Income and/or Alternative Investments depending on allocation
  • Analyze portfolio exposures and key risk drivers, including (as applicable) rates/duration/yield curve, spread/credit, currency/FX, derivatives, liquidity, concentration, factor, model, and scenario/stress risks
  • Monitor market developments and identify emerging risks driven by macroeconomic, geopolitical, regulatory, and market‑structure changes
  • Evaluate risk/return characteristics of investment strategies and appropriately challenge portfolio positioning and assumptions
  • Escalate material risk developments (e.g., market stress, liquidity deterioration, model/assumption breakdowns) with clear framing and recommended actions/questions
  • Produce and present clear, actionable risk insights for portfolio managers, senior leaders, and risk governance forums
  • Support investment reviews, risk committees, product approvals, and related governance processes
  • Develop and enhance risk metrics, dashboards, and reporting to improve transparency and decision‑making
  • Leverage data analytics, automation, and AI tools to strengthen monitoring, reporting, and risk intelligence
  • Partner with colleagues across Investments, Risk, Technology, Data, Product Development, and Control functions
  • Support regulatory reviews, internal governance requirements, and management reporting
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives focused on innovation, process improvement, and risk transformation

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to evaluate complex investment and portfolio risks
  • Working understanding of financial markets and investment products (fixed income, derivatives, and/or alternative strategies)
  • Ability to synthesize information and communicate risk issues clearly in writing and in discussions with technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrated ownership, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams and regions
  • Demonstrated interest in investment risk management, portfolio analytics, market structure, and emerging technologies

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in asset management, investment risk management, portfolio analytics, research, or related fields
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Fixed income markets (rates, credit products, structured/credit instruments) and related derivatives
    • Alternative investments and/or systematic/quantitative strategies
  • Familiarity with risk analytics such as VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis, factor models, performance attribution, or liquidity risk frameworks
  • Experience with data/analytics tools such as Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of quantitative techniques, machine learning, or AI‑enabled analytical solutions
