IoT/MES & Automation Software Engineer (Robotic & Automation)
Summary
In-house software/systems engineer at a bakery manufacturer who develops and maintains the company's Manufacturing Execution System and internal production apps, integrating MES with ERP/CMMS/APS via cloud and serverless backends (TypeScript/Node.js, NoSQL/SQL, webhooks). Also provides hands-on floor support for industrial hardware like tablets, Bluetooth scanners, and vision systems.
We are looking for a hands-on, proactive Software and Systems Developer to manage, maintain, and upgrade our in-house Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and internal operational applications. You will bridge the gap between our production floor operations and digital systems, ensuring real-time data accuracy, robust hardware-software integration, and the continuous improvement of our industrial digital infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
MES & App Development: Develop, debug, and optimize internal applications and backend services used for production tracking, yield reporting, and quality control.
System & Cloud Integration: Build, maintain, and improve data synchronisation pipelines between the MES, CMMS, APS, and our core ERP system Ensure real-time accessibility of production plans and warehouse stock counts on the production floor.
UI/UX & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software errors, API integration failures, and network handling issues. Continuously improve application interfaces and error messaging for a seamless operator experience.
On-Floor Technical Support:* Act as the first line of technical response for production departments. Resolve tablet connection failures, Bluetooth scanner integrations, and wireless network dropouts in a fast-paced environment.
Hardware & IoT Deployments: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and replacement of industrial hardware on the manufacturing line, including tablets, camera vision scanning systems, and network peripherals.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Core Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in full-stack web development (TypeScript, Node.js, HTML/CSS).
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and serverless deployments.
Experience managing and querying Cloud NoSQL Databases and relational SQL databases.
Proven ability to build and maintain API webhooks for system-to-system communications.
Advantageous Skills:
Familiarity with integrating AI/ML SDKs into enterprise automation workflows.
Experience with IoT deployments, Bluetooth integrations, or automated vision sensors.
3 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or manufacturing IT support. Fresh graduates with strong, demonstrable project portfolios are highly encouraged to apply.

Highly willing to work directly on the manufacturing floor to deploy solutions and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
Willing to travel to both Shah Alam and Pulau Indah plant as and when required.
