Summary

Senior IP/network engineer who administers and secures the company's IP-based WAN/LAN infrastructure: firewalls and VPNs, Cisco routing/switching, Linux systems, monitoring and troubleshooting, plus managing backups and coordinating power/HVAC for the facility. Core stack includes Cisco IOS/ASA/Firepower, pfSense, IPsec, BGP/OSPF/MPLS, and SolarWinds.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Responsible for network administration and architecture
● Responsible for Monitoring network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
● Being available on-call to respond to critical network issues that may arise outside of normal business hours.
● Responsible for the company’s IP-based WANs, LANs, transport hardware and software.
● Responsible for access control models and network security, securing the entire network with firewalls using Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Netgate pfSense and other security appliances.
● Responsible for setting, configuring and managing VPNs, particularly IPsec & Remote VPNs.
● Responsible for configuring, managing & understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS & DNOS)
● Responsible for configuring, managing & understanding Linux operating systems
● Responsible for implementing, and managing a robust and secure network infrastructure
● Troubleshooting network and server-related issues.
● Responsible for HVAC by monitoring, troubleshooting and dealing with HVAC technicians.
● Responsible for Power systems by monitoring, troubleshooting and dealing with A.C & D.C electrical systems technicians.
● Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the network architecture and any recent changes that could affect troubleshooting efforts.
● Responsible for documenting infrastructural incidents and actions taken to resolve them for future reference and analysis.
● Performing daily speed and security tests on installed networks to ensure they meet required standards.
● Training NOC team on basic issues that can be addressed by Level I support
● Responsible for Level II infrastructural and network support
● Responsible for data backup and recovery.
○ Planning, deploying, and administering the backup system hardware and software
○ Ensuring that backups are run according to schedule and that retention policies are met
○ Verifying all full backup jobs and maintaining an audit trail of configuration, backup, and restore tasks
○ Providing reports on job success or failure and raising event alerts for failures
○ Performing file restore operations as required

Requirements

Required Skills :
● Industry-related experience as a Senior IP Network Engineer
● Professional certification (e.g. CCNA, CCNP and optionally CCDP)
● Solid background in network administration and architecture
● IP-based WANs, LANs, and transport hardware and software.
● In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and IPv4/IPv6.)
● Familiarity with access control models and network security, Skills in securing networks with firewalls, Cisco ASA, Cisco TFD, and other security appliances.
● Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
● VPN Technologies: Experience with configuring and managing VPNs, particularly IPsec.
● Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS)
● Implement, and manage a robust and secure network infrastructure
● Sharp troubleshooting skills

Experience: 2.5years Minimum
