Overview: As an Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance and water efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Setup:

    • Install new irrigation systems according to specifications and blueprints.
    • Set up control valves, sprinkler heads, piping, and other components accurately and efficiently.
    • Ensure proper alignment and positioning of irrigation equipment to achieve optimal coverage.
  2. Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Conduct routine inspections of irrigation systems to identify issues such as leaks, clogs, or malfunctions.
    • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions promptly.
    • Repair or replace faulty components such as valves, timers, sensors, and piping.
    • Adjust irrigation schedules and settings as needed to accommodate changes in weather conditions or landscape requirements.
  3. Water Management:

    • Monitor water usage and system efficiency to maximize water conservation efforts.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance water efficiency and minimize waste.
    • Collaborate with landscape designers or architects to design irrigation systems that align with sustainable practices and local regulations.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of irrigation system installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
    • Generate reports on system performance, water usage, and efficiency metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an irrigation technician or similar role in landscaping, agriculture, or related field.
  • Proficiency in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems, including drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, and controllers.
  • Knowledge of irrigation principles, water conservation techniques, and sustainable landscaping practices.
  • Familiarity with irrigation equipment, tools, and materials used in installation and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.

  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

Education and Certification:
