IT Administrator

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Network Administrator to serve as the primary on-site IT resource for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. This hands-on position supports office and production users while maintaining the site’s network, servers, virtualization environment, backups, communications systems, and manufacturing-related technology.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can independently manage competing priorities, resolve issues ranging from routine user requests to production-impacting outages, and coordinate effectively with Motherson corporate IT teams and outside vendors. The position includes after-hours and on-call support for critical issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for office employees, production users, management, and technical personnel.
• Troubleshoot Windows computers, Microsoft 365 applications, printers, mobile devices, network connectivity, user accounts, and business applications.
• Deploy and maintain workstations, software, accounts, permissions, and equipment for employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, domain controllers, and Windows servers.
• Maintain the VMware vSphere and ESXi environment, currently supporting approximately 14 virtual machines.
• Support vCenter, Nimble storage, iSCSI connectivity, virtual networking, and host and datastore performance.
• Monitor Veeam Backup & Replication, investigate backup failures, and perform or coordinate file, application, and virtual-machine recovery.
• Administer Cisco and Meraki switches, switch stacks, wireless access points, VLANs, routing, trunking, spanning tree, link aggregation, and network segmentation.
• Manage IP addressing and DHCP reservations for servers, printers, scanners, Zebra devices, cameras, and manufacturing equipment.
• Administer the local Cisco Firepower 1120 firewall within assigned authority, including access rules, network objects, NAT, routing, and interfaces.
• Support primary and backup internet services and coordinate troubleshooting with carriers and vendors.
• Support Netskope Zero Trust Network Access and troubleshoot local certificate, proxy, connectivity, and application-access issues.
• Assist Motherson corporate IT with vulnerability remediation, endpoint-security issues, patching, audit evidence, and security investigations. Corporate teams retain primary responsibility for enterprise threat detection and centralized security monitoring.
• Support Plex ERP/MES connectivity, user access, Plex Component Host, and related manufacturing applications.
• Troubleshoot production technology, including workstations, scales, barcode and label printers, scanners, serial-to-Ethernet devices, Zebra handhelds, PLC connectivity, HMIs, and other networked equipment.
• Administer Cisco Webex Calling users and devices, troubleshoot VoIP and SIP-related issues, and support Singlewire InformaCast paging.
• Maintain network printing, print-server resources, NVR and camera connectivity, access-control infrastructure, and other locally supported systems.
• Lead or coordinate infrastructure upgrades, migrations, equipment replacements, and network redesigns while minimizing disruption to manufacturing.
• Maintain network diagrams, system inventories, change records, recovery procedures, and technical documentation.
• Support disaster-recovery and business-continuity planning, restoration testing, vendor coordination, and internal, corporate, customer, or external audits.
• Communicate technical risks, outages, project requirements, and recommendations clearly to management and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows workstations and Windows Server environments.
• Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and access permissions.
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere, ESXi, virtual machines, and shared storage.
• Working knowledge of backup administration and recovery, preferably using Veeam.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting managed switches, VLANs, routing, wireless networks, and firewalls.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, switching, routing, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365, printers, mobile devices, VoIP systems, and end-user hardware.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues spanning endpoints, servers, networks, applications, security controls, and manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to independently plan and perform infrastructure changes in a production environment where downtime must be minimized.
• Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, project-coordination, and vendor-management skills.
• Ability to provide after-hours and on-call support for critical issues in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• IT experience in manufacturing or another production-critical environment.
• Experience with Cisco switching, Cisco Firepower, Meraki networking, and Cisco Webex Calling.
• Experience with VMware, Nimble storage, Veeam Backup & Replication, and Windows Server.
• Familiarity with Plex ERP/MES or a comparable manufacturing platform.
• Familiarity with Zebra devices, industrial network equipment, PLC connectivity, NVRs, access-control systems, and SIP communications.
• Experience using PowerShell or a similar scripting language for administration, reporting, or troubleshooting.
• Relevant education, professional experience, or certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, Microsoft, VMware, or comparable credentials.
