IT Administrator

Role: IT Administrator

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

We are looking for an IT Administrator to provide day-to-day IT services across our Colombo operation. You will resolve technical issues, manage user accounts and access, maintain systems and network infrastructure, monitor compliance with IT security requirements, and coordinate IT equipment, purchasing, and external service providers. This role is suited to an experienced IT professional with strong technical, troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills who can manage changing priorities effectively.

What will your day at GAC look like?

• Provide initial and escalated IT assistance, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage service requests.

• Manage IT requirements for employee onboarding and offboarding.

• Provide technical assistance for Microsoft 365 applications and services.

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT hardware.

• Administer and maintain IT infrastructure and business systems

• Monitor and maintain IT security controls, device compliance, and security alerts.

• Manage system updates, security patches, monitoring, backups, and data recovery.

• Support IT business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation.

• Maintain IT asset records, technical documentation, network diagrams, and service desk procedures.

• Coordinate IT purchasing, deliveries, warranties, and vendor relationships.

• Support IT audits, compliance reviews, system upgrades, and process improvements.

What are we looking for?

1. Education: Degree in information technology, or secondary education with relevant technical qualifications.

2. Experience: At least four years of experience in IT support within an enterprise or hybrid cloud environment, or in an IT administration role.

3. Professional certifications: Certifications in ITIL, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure administration, networking, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, ServiceNow, or Cisco technologies would be an advantage.

4. Technical skills: Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and IT service management platforms, including ServiceNow.

• Technical skills: Working knowledge of local area networks (LANs), Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and firewalls.

• Technical skills: Familiarity with cybersecurity, cloud security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and zero-trust security concepts.

• Technical skills: Knowledge of backup and recovery, IT asset management, configuration management, and IT purchasing.

• Communication: Excellent spoken and written English.
