IT Business Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to support enterprise software and application projects.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, users and technical teams to understand business needs, define system requirements and ensure that proposed solutions meet project objectives. The role will also support solution design, testing, implementation and requirements management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Requirements Analysis

• Engage business users and stakeholders to understand business needs, processes and system requirements.
• Conduct interviews, workshops and requirement gathering sessions.
• Analyze existing processes, documentation and system specifications to identify requirements and gaps.
• Convert business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
• Develop user stories, process flows and UML/BPMN models where required.
• Ensure requirements are clearly documented and understood by both business and technical teams.

Solution & Project Support

• Work with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet agreed business requirements.
• Support solution design, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and implementation activities.
• Review and validate system functionality against approved requirements and project scope.
• Assist stakeholders during implementation and resolve requirement-related issues.

Change & Scope Management

• Manage requirement changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assess the impact of requested changes before they are incorporated into the project.
• Ensure requirements remain aligned with agreed project and tender specifications.
• Identify and manage potential scope changes to minimize unnecessary scope expansion.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear updates on requirements and project progress.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure requested functionality is achievable within the capabilities of the selected solution.
• Maintain effective communication with users, project teams and customers.

Requirements

• More than 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting IT or software projects.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, requirements engineering and stakeholder management.
• Experience working with enterprise customized/bespoke systems or similar environments.
• Good understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Familiarity with BPMN and UML modelling.
• Knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel would be advantageous.
• Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Python or R would be an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to prepare clear and accurate business and technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder and customer management skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
• IIBA or BA-related certification such as ECBA, CCBA, CBAP or PMI-PBA.
• Entry-level project management certification would be advantageous.
• Previous experience supporting Singapore Government projects is preferred.
• MBA, Master's in Business Analytics or other relevant postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
