IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Summary

Leads cybersecurity evaluations of industrial control and operational technology systems, advises on secure architectures, and develops training for critical infrastructure protection.

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the Cyberspace Resilience Evaluation Directorate (CRED) J10, DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).

Leads comprehensive discovery and evaluations of Critical Infrastructure, including Control Systems (CS), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), and Operational Technology (OT) to identify unique risks and vulnerabilities..

Provides expert guidance on the architecture of IT/OT networks and control systems, advising on cybersecurity measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and safety of industrial environments.

Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure the reliability and security of critical infrastructure and facility-related control systems.

Leads the development of training materials and mentorship for junior assessors within the Critical Infrastructure Discovery and Evaluation (CIDE) program to build a certified and capable team.

Conducts in-depth technical analysis of industrial control systems and operational technology, developing detailed reports and recommendations to enhance the security posture of these critical systems.
