IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (NETWORK/INFOSEC)
Summary
Leads cybersecurity operations for a U.S. military network, overseeing infrastructure protection and incident response to secure DoD services in the USCENTCOM region.
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OPC/ DISA Field Command.
Provides expert oversight, leadership, and operational guidance for all DISA Network Center (DNC) shifts, coordinating key activities within the USCENTCOM area of responsibility.
Maintains C2 of strategic infrastructure and assets to secure and protect DISA services, enabling the employment and sustainment of DoW and coalition forces.
Serve as a technical and operational expert on a team that executes operational directives, tasks, orders, and provides situational awareness/reporting.
Prioritize restorations, escalate situations, arbitrate conflicts, negotiate competing options, and collaborate across the agency and other Department of War (Dow) organizations.
Acts as the Continuity Coordinator to provide leadership, advice, and input for the Contingency and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP).
May involve travel to theater during combat operations.
