This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA (IT331). Positions are located at Fort Meade Maryland and Pentagon (Marc Center), Arlington Virginia.

As the Battle Captain, serves as the principal oversight and reporting authority for the DoDNet Watch, acting as the lead liaison to the DISA Joint Operations Center (DJOC) and DoDNet customers.

Directs and guides the research, analysis, and application of complex network operation tactics, techniques, and procedures to ensure the timely resolution of incidents and maintain effective, efficient global network operations.

Oversees major network projects, including the installation of hardware/software upgrades, while continuously monitoring the performance and security of global systems to provide situational awareness to leadership.

Maintains continual vigilance against threats to the network infrastructure, ensuring the rigorous application of information security (INFOSEC) policies and practices to protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Prepares and presents cogent, cohesive briefings to advise DoD and DISA leadership on current network status, incident response, and future operational considerations.
