IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC)

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).

Serves as a policy and doctrine advisor, providing analysis and guidance such as long and short-range planning initiatives to supports DCO-IDM synchronization and expand the DCDC’s span of control.

Coordinates with Combatant Commands and DoD partners on all planning matters, gathering requirements from senior leadership to define and create policy for the defense of the DCDC.

Conducts all-source data research and analysis. Schedules and facilitates inspections such as evaluate DCO-IDM effectiveness and cyber compliance, providing oversight to inspection teams.

Leads DoD-level working groups to explore integration issues such as the cybersecurity provider community, strengthening DCO-IDM capabilities and information sharing across the enterprise.

Performs analysis of operational requirements and provides recommendations such as courses of action to leadership to establish policies and procedures for DCDC Operations and DCO-IDM.
