Job Summary
The IT Director provides strategic and operational leadership across the organization's information technology function. The role ensures that IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, systems, data, and technology services are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
Within Insurance & Investments, the IT Director typically supports technology used across insurance operations, investment/asset management, finance, risk, compliance, customer services, and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, roadmap, and annual technology plans.
Lead IT operations, infrastructure, applications, networks, cloud, and service delivery.
Oversee technology platforms supporting insurance, investments, finance, risk, and business operations.
Manage cybersecurity, information security, IT controls, and technology risk.
Establish IT governance, policies, standards, procedures, and service-management frameworks.
Lead digital transformation, automation, modernization, and technology optimization initiatives.
Oversee ERP, CRM, core insurance, investment-management, financial, and enterprise applications.
Manage enterprise architecture, systems integration, databases, APIs, cloud, and infrastructure.
Ensure system availability, performance, scalability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Lead major technology implementations, migrations, upgrades, integrations, and transformation programs.
Manage IT budgets, vendors, outsourcing partners, contracts, and procurement.
Monitor IT KPIs, SLAs, service quality, project delivery, and operational performance.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, privacy, cybersecurity, and financial-services requirements.
Partner with business leaders to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
Lead and develop IT managers, engineers, analysts, and support teams.
Provide senior leadership with reporting on technology performance, risks, projects, budgets, and investments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
10–15+ years of progressive IT/technology experience.
5+ years in IT Director, Head of IT, Technology Director, Head of Technology, CIO, CTO, or equivalent roles.
Experience in insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, wealth management, or financial services.
