IT Engineer

Salary: $4,500 – $6,000 per month

The role

Our client is seeking a reliable and hands-on Senior IT Engineer to support its day-to-day IT operations. The role covers end-user technical support, IT equipment and systems maintenance, networking, firewall administration, Active Directory, office peripherals and vendor coordination.

Salary: $4,000 - $6,000 + VB

Working hours: MON- FRI Office hours

HQ Location: Commonwealth, Singapore

1 year renewable contract with perm staff benefits

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, network and general IT issues.

• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, peripherals and other office IT equipment.

• Diagnose network issues involving LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, connectivity and network switches.

• Administer and troubleshoot the Sophos Firewall.

• Manage Microsoft Active Directory functions, including:

  • Creating, modifying and disabling user accounts

  • Resetting passwords

  • Managing access rights and permissions

  • Adding users and computers to the domain

  • Supporting basic Group Policy requirements

• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain local and network printers.

• Set up and deploy computers, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.

• Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including account and equipment provisioning.

• Coordinate with external vendors on:

  • IT equipment purchases and quotations

  • Hardware repairs and replacements

  • Warranty and technical support cases

  • Installation and maintenance services

• Maintain accurate IT hardware and software inventory records.

• Document IT systems, configurations, equipment and troubleshooting procedures.

• Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate internal teams or external vendors.

• Ensure IT equipment and systems remain operational, secure and properly maintained.

• Support other IT-related duties according to business requirements.
  
  

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN and Wi-Fi.

• Network connectivity and switch troubleshooting.

• Sophos Firewall administration and troubleshooting.

• Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.

• Windows desktop and laptop support.

• Hardware troubleshooting and basic computer maintenance.

• Printer installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

• Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.

• User account, access and permissions management.

• Fundamental IT security practices.

• IT equipment setup and deployment.

• Vendor coordination and IT procurement.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

• Relevant experience in IT support, helpdesk, desktop support or IT infrastructure.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Active Directory, networking, firewalls and Windows environments.

• Experience administering or supporting Sophos products would be advantageous.

• Able to explain technical matters clearly to users with varying levels of IT knowledge.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Responsible, service-oriented and able to take ownership of issues through resolution.

• Organised and capable of managing multiple support requests and ongoing IT tasks.

• Willing to learn new technologies, systems and troubleshooting methods.
