Our Production division is focused on growing high quality hybrid vegetable seed for the world markets. We achieve this by contracting growers to produce specific crops for customers, under strict quality guidelines.
Every member of our SPS team plays an important role in ensuring a top quality product is delivered to our customers in optimal condition and on time. Our services include; field work, seed cleaning, quality control, shipping, research & development.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position focuses on providing high level technical support and complex problem solving. You will be required to assist and provide support to both onsite and remote users over the phone.
Due to an opportunity within our Methven, Canterbury operation, we are recruiting for a dedicated IT specialist to provide support and management of our systems. The position, working from our Methven office, reports to our IT Manager whom is based in Australia. The role has potential for travel nationally to support our Auckland based Sales office and Hawkes Bay Production division.
PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provide end-to-end Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 IT support, including triage, troubleshooting, resolution, escalation and follow-up of service desk tickets.
Implement, manage and maintain onsite network infrastructure and connectivity services, including switching, VLANs, firewalls/gateways, wireless networks and related infrastructure.
Maintain endpoint security and patch management for end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices and associated operating systems and applications.
Assist in supporting an industry-based ERP system and associated database systems, including troubleshooting, user support and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Assist with the creation, updating and maintenance of ERP SQL reports to support business reporting and operational requirements.
Set up, deploy and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, smartphones and other end-user devices.
Assist with the procurement of IT devices and maintain accurate asset records, including allocation, tracking, lifecycle updates and disposal information.
Support end-user operating systems, business applications, Microsoft 365 services and device configuration requirements.
Maintain and update the IT knowledge base for support procedures, infrastructure documentation, endpoint management and security processes.
Assist other team members to ensure daily tasks, backups, monitoring activities and routine maintenance are completed successfully.
A BIT ABOUT YOU – EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Ideally you would have a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in a similar role and hold tertiary qualifications in an approved IT degree. Complimented with:
Good technical knowledge of Windows ecosystem, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Azure Active Directory.
Understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, tech products including networking equipment.
Working understanding of networking; VLAN, switching, firewall/gateway and enterprise wireless systems.
SQL and programming experience would be advantageous but is not compulsory.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
