IT Engineer
Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 7,000 per month
About the role
We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join our growing technical team at TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Simpang Ampat, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining, supporting and optimising our network and systems infrastructure. As an IT Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and performance of our IT systems, which are fundamental to our business operations. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of our organisation.
Key responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain network infrastructure and systems across the organisation
Monitor and troubleshoot network and system performance issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability
Provide technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
Manage user access controls, security protocols and system permissions
Install, configure and update operating systems, applications and system software
Conduct regular system backups, disaster recovery planning and business continuity procedures
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, systems and IT infrastructure
Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and implement system improvements
Ensure compliance with data security standards and IT policies
Assist in procurement, evaluation and deployment of new IT hardware and software solutions
What we're looking for
Diploma or degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in network and systems administration
Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN technologies
Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems
Proficiency in managing firewalls, routers and switches
Competency in system security, vulnerability management and cybersecurity best practices
Experience with virtualisation technologies and cloud-based infrastructure
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication abilities and capacity to work effectively within a team
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Associate (MCA) or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable
Willingness to undertake on-call support duties as required
