Tumu is a dynamic and growing group with interests across timber manufacturing, importing, wholesale distribution, property development, and the finance sector. With the increasing complexity of our business and our focus on using technology to drive efficiency, we have an opportunity within our internal IT team for an experienced IT Engineer.

About the Role
  • Deliver, maintain, and improve reliable ICT systems across multiple Tumu businesses and sites.
  • Configure and support secure network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, and cabling.
  • Provide quality support to the ICT team and users, both onsite and remotely.
  • Strengthen systems and infrastructure security through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and improvement.
  • Use Microsoft Power Platform and other tools to improve business processes, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Support technology upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
About You

You will be a proactive problem solver and team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels of the organisation. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • At least 5 years working in IT Industry and ideally experience working in a production environment.
  • Strong Microsoft platform experience, including Microsoft 365, Windows Server and desktop, Office applications, databases, Microsoft SQL, and server administration.
  • Strong network and security infrastructure experience, including Fortinet firewalls, routers, switches, routing, VPNs, VLANs, cabling, and switch port configuration.
  • Exposure to PLC, SCADA, or associated business applications would be beneficial.
  • Ability to understand business needs and provide practical, effective technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical and technical capability, with a self-motivated and collaborative working style.
  • Proven project management skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence supporting users by phone, online, and onsite.
  • Flexibility to travel to sites around the North Island when required and participate in rostered on-call support outside business hours.

Additional Information
  • This role requires some business travel and rostered on-call support outside of standard business hours.
