Pay: $65/hr to $77/hr, DOE
Job Overview:
As the IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing an organization's IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
Job Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Terraform Standardization: Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Terraform, designing and establishing enterprisegrade IaC templates, modules, and governance patterns to ensure highly repeatable and driftfree deployments
- Enforce code standards, build reusable module registries, and manage infrastructure state files securely across a multiaccount enterprise AWS environment
- Build, optimize, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines via GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins to automate infrastructure provisioning, policy testing, and continuous deployment
- Container Foundation & Platform Engineering: Architect, implement, and operationalize the organization's initial container orchestration platforms utilizing AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) or ECS
- Establish standard operating procedures for container security, image scanning, registry management (AWS ECR), and microservices deployment
- Provide clear architectural blueprints to application teams transitioning legacy workloads into containerized environments
- Hybrid Cloud Connectivity & Core Networking: Manage, secure, and optimize the hybrid cloud footprint, ensuring high availability and seamless dataintransit pipelines between onpremises data centers, clinical systems, and AWS resources
- Administer core AWS networking services with an emphasis on secure hybrid architecture, including Transit Gateway, Route 53, Direct Connect, and corporate VPC design
- Team Mentorship, Coaching, & Upskilling: Actively coach and mentor existing infrastructure and systems engineers, guiding them through the transition from traditional operations to modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloudnative practices
- Lead peer code reviews for Terraform scripts, host internal technical workshops, and establish documentation patterns that democratize cloud infrastructure knowledge across the department
Required Skills & Experience:
- Associate's degree in a relevant technology field or acquired through a combination of education and experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer
- Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems, and system administration
- Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and container platforms (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
