IT Manager (IT Operations | End-User Computing | MS 365 | Cybersecurity Support)

Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) is a limited company wholly owned by the Financial Secretary Incorporated.

The BTRi will conduct research and development (R&D) activities in areas covering innovative construction materials, construction methods and technologies, as well as devise standards, conduct testing and provide accreditation. Hong Kong has unique advantages with a wealth of knowledge and experience in applying international construction standards. Through collaboration with government authorities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the BTRi will foster interconnectivity and integrated development of the GBA, and help build the brand of "GBA Standards" by developing standards for different domains of construction, such as materials, design and construction methods, with a view to developing the GBA into one of the regions with the most advanced construction technologies in the country and transforming the construction industry into a new quality productive force.

Position Summary

Manage end-user support and end-user success under management. Keep IT operations reliable across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Alibaba Cloud, infrastructure and backup, cybersecurity tools (Endpoint Detection and Response, firewall), business systems, and office AV, and keep day-to-day delivery running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, backup, and routine, Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning checks following company IT policy.

• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Alibaba Cloud (provisioning, devices, licenses, system health monitoring, vendor management).

• Support cybersecurity operations: Endpoint Detection and Response, firewalls, vulnerability follow-up, and first-line incident triage / escalation.

• Monitor the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) website for relevant advisories/incidents; escalate through the correct management channels and drive timely response (e.g. coordinate vendors to apply or lock patches and related mitigations).

• Provide end-user support for accounts, devices, MDM, business-critical apps, eDM and office AV.

• Assist technology / AI project rollouts with build, testing, enablement, and adoption follow-up.

• Maintain operational documentation, asset / licence records, and ticket hygiene.

• Support security awareness logistics and incident-response exercises.

• Escalate risks, capacity issues, and major incidents promptly to management.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / Information Systems (or equivalent experience).

• About 3–5+ years in User support, systems administration, or IT operations (adjust to grade).

• Hands-on Microsoft 365 plus at least one of: Entra ID, Intune, network, or Alibaba Cloud.

• Familiar with cybersecurity tools (Endpoint Detection and Response, firewalls) and incident / vulnerability process.

• End-user and office AV support experience; service mindset.

• Written and spoken English and Chinese.
