Description

Meraki Group, which operates SPGS (Singapore), believes every member of staff has a real hand in the school’s success, and that what a person contributes shouldn’t stop where their job title ends.

This position description sets out the main duties, qualifications and scope of the role. It is not a complete list. It does not confine the employee, or SPGS (Singapore), to the work written here. We expect every colleague to step in where the school needs them, in ways that fit their skills and their role.

Meraki Group and SPGS (Singapore) are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all teaching staff, non-teaching staff and volunteers to share that commitment and act on it.

  • Make sure systems support the school’s data protection obligations and information-management policies.
  • Work with the safeguarding lead so that web filtering, monitoring and system permissions support safeguarding.
  • Support regulatory reporting and inspection readiness.

Backup, continuity and change control

  • Run backups across Veeam and HPE StoreOnce, and report on job status, success rates and exceptions.
  • Plan and carry out disaster recovery restore tests that confirm recovery point and recovery time objectives are met.
  • Keep incident response plans ready, with defined roles, escalation paths and containment steps.
  • Own change management so that every change is planned, approved, tested and recorded before it is applied.
  • Keep Standard Operating Procedures current for core systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Agree recovery action plans with service providers, prioritised by business impact.

Team leadership and service delivery

  • Lead and develop the IT Support team so systems are maintained, updated and supported.
  • Act as the escalation point for issues affecting multiple users or departments.
  • Oversee the service desk so requests are logged, prioritised and resolved.
  • Set clear ownership, permissions and data-integrity rules for each system.
  • Produce monthly MIS reports on infrastructure performance for management review.

Academic partnership and user adoption

  • Work with academic leaders so systems support teaching, learning, assessment and reporting.
  • Find ways to get more out of existing platforms for classroom practice and the student experience.
  • Build the staff training framework and guidance materials for core platforms.
  • Gather structured feedback from users to inform improvements and future procurement.

Projects and vendors

  • Lead new platform implementations and major upgrades as project manager, covering timelines, risk, stakeholder communication and training.
