Established in 1986, the business has grown from its humble beginnings to become one of Victoria’s leading foodservice distributors. With three distribution centres in Ballarat, Thomastown, and Traralgon, we proudly serve foodservice outlets across Metro and Regional Victoria.

Our extensive product range includes over 7,500 frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods sourced from more than 500 trusted suppliers. We provide a wide variety of food, beverages, and other essential products to restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hotels, pubs, clubs, cafes, and all other food establishments.

Natures Cargo is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our IT department. Based in Ballarat and working alongside our IT Lead/Systems Administrator, you will manage the company’s IT infrastructure, support employees with their technical needs, and protect the security and integrity of our data. You will also help identify and implement emerging technologies, including AI-powered solutions that improve efficiency, streamline processes and create value across the business. The role will involve occasional travel to our Thomastown and Traralgon sites to provide consistent oversight and support. As a trusted point of contact for employees, you will be approachable, engaging and committed to delivering practical solutions that make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and implement technology solutions that improve business processes and efficiency

  • Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including Azure, Dlink and SAAS applications

  • Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues

  • Ensure the security and integrity of our data, implementing and maintaining security protocols and procedures

  • Manage and mentor staff with new systems and IT procedures

  • Manage and monitor software and hardware licensing and maintenance agreements

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technology trends and recommend new technology solutions to improve the company's operations

  • Collaborate and manage third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables

To be successful in this position, you will possess the following skills:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related IT field.

  • Experience administering ERP systems in a warehouse setting.

  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role, preferably in the warehousing, logistics and/or foodservice industry.

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Cybersecurity, Cloud infrastructure (Azure) and API integrations.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Manager role or similar roles

  • Experience using Pronto ERP would be highly regarded

  • Experience with cloud-based solutions

  • Familiarity with security protocols and procedures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption

  • Microsoft 365, with exposure to SQL highly regarded

  • Sound understanding of AI tools and their practical application in improving business processes and operational efficiency.
