IT Manager Job Description
IT Planning/Network Architecture
- Establish and review at least annually the companys IT environment/architecture and identify opportunities for hardware and software changes (products and/or configuration) to improve security, reliability, performance, accessibility or to lower costs.
- Stay abreast of IT and technology innovations and trends and make recommendations to ensure that the Company is employing a reasonable approach to its IT infrastructure under the current technology conditions and IT environment.
- Maintain and periodically update IT Network map.
Server Management and Maintenance
- Monitor servers and critical functions for security, performance, reliability, accessibility.
- Performance timely software maintenance and patching.
- Troubleshoot server performance issues and rectify on a timely basis.
- Develop, maintain, and execute a schedule for hardware and software maintenance, support, and end of life management
IT Security
- Continuously monitor IT security to maintain a high level of security.
- Develop and maintain response plans to potential IT breaches.
- Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to IT security.
- Develop and train staff on IT security protocols and best practices.
Property Support
- Assist hotel properties with becoming and maintaining PCI compliance.
- Assist property managers and brands in supporting the hotel IT environments through IT evaluations and recommendations for improvements.
IT Administration
- Support SOX program and testing related to IT.
- Plan, schedule, and perform periodic back-up and recovery testing.
- Develop, review annually, periodically test and maintain disaster recovery plans.
- Periodically report IT metrics such as help desk tickets, up-time.
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action.
- Develop specifications for hardware and software purchases.
- Maintenance relationships with key vendors such as Microsoft, Dell, Varonis, Fortinet, Allworx, etc. for the purchase and support of IT hardware and software.
- Maintain and periodically report an inventory of all users and IT assets.
Desktop support
- Provide desktop support for staff PCs, printers, copiers, software, and office applications.
- Provide training support for software (e.g. Outlook, MS Office) for staff.
- Develop, periodically review, maintain, and execute a schedule for managing desktop assets (warranty support, upgrades, and replacement).
- Manage user access (new hires, terminations, and changes) based on organization policies and requests.
Telecommunications Support
- Assist in the management and support of the phone system
