The role
We’re looking for a hands-on IT Manager to take ownership of our internal IT environment, ensuring our people have secure, reliable and efficient technology to work with every day.
This is not a purely strategic role. You’ll own our IT standards, policies, budget and systems, while also being comfortable getting hands-on with devices, access, networking, security and day-to-day technical issues.
You’ll work closely with Engineering and DevOps, who own our production platform, while you take ownership of corporate IT and workplace technology.
What you'll be doing:
IT Strategy & Ownership
Own the company’s IT roadmap, standards, policies and budget as the business grows.
Manage hardware, software licensing, IT assets, vendors and suppliers.
Maintain clear IT documentation and identify opportunities to improve our tools and processes.
Identity, Access & Core Platforms
Manage Google Workspace, SSO and core business platforms such as Slack and Microsoft 365.
Own employee IT onboarding and offboarding, including accounts, access permissions and devices.
Maintain secure access controls, MFA and regular access reviews.
Remote Systems & Server Administration
Configure and maintain Windows and Linux machines, including remote and virtual environments.
Manage secure remote access, patching, backups and system monitoring.
Maintain reliable recovery processes for the systems you own.
Security & Resilience
Own endpoint security, device protection, patching and access controls.
Support DevOps with Cloudflare and related security controls where needed.
Contribute to security reviews, compliance requirements and security awareness across the business.
Support & Incident Handling
Be the go-to person for day-to-day internal IT support across hardware, software, networking and workplace technology.
Provide hands-on Level 1 and Level 2 troubleshooting, escalating to Engineering when needed.
Identify recurring issues and improve tools and processes to prevent them.
Workplace Technology
Own office networking, Wi-Fi, meeting room technology and shared equipment.
Configure, maintain and upgrade laptops, desktops, peripherals and mobile devices.
Keep workplace technology reliable through proactive maintenance and lifecycle planning.
What we're looking for:
Strong hands-on IT administration and Level 1/Level 2 troubleshooting experience.
Experience managing Windows and/or macOS environments, with good working knowledge of Linux.
Solid networking knowledge, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs and firewalls.
Experience with Google Workspace or similar platforms such as Microsoft 365, Entra ID or Okta.
Experience managing SSO, user access, onboarding/offboarding and endpoint security.
Familiarity with Cloudflare or similar security/Zero Trust platforms.
Experience managing remote machines, patching, backups and secure remote access.
A structured approach to documentation, security and IT processes.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the company’s IT environment.
Friendly and approachable, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have:
Exposure to AWS or Azure.
Experience with MDM tools such as Intune, Jamf or Kandji.
PowerShell, Bash or Python scripting and automation skills.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials or similar frameworks.
Experience within gaming, fintech, payments or another regulated industry.
Relevant IT or security certifications
