Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Network Specialist to help maintain the stability, performance, and security of our company’s IT infrastructure. This role will primarily focus on network monitoring, desktop troubleshooting, and day-to-day IT operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and problem-solving.
Beyond core infrastructure responsibilities, the role provides opportunities to upskill in development, automation, emerging technologies, and leadership, with the potential to take on larger technical projects and supervisory responsibilities as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor company network infrastructure, including internet connections, switches, routers, wireless access points, and other network devices to ensure reliable and stable connectivity.
Identify and troubleshoot network issues, including slow connections, intermittent connectivity, IP conflicts, Wi-Fi problems, and other network-related incidents.
Provide desktop and end-user technical support, including troubleshooting computers, peripherals, operating systems, applications, and other workplace technology.
Perform workstation setup and deployment, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and replacement of desktops, laptops, and related equipment.
Assist in maintaining network security, including access controls, endpoint protection, device configurations, and implementation of IT security policies.
Monitor network and system performance, proactively identifying potential issues before they significantly affect business operations.
Maintain and troubleshoot office IT infrastructure, including printers, CCTV systems, biometric devices, conference room equipment, and other connected devices when required.
Support user account and access management, ensuring employees have appropriate access to systems, applications, and network resources.
Assist with IT asset management, including equipment inventory, assignment, maintenance records, and lifecycle tracking.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, device configurations, troubleshooting procedures, incident records, and IT processes.
Coordinate with internet service providers, vendors, and technical partners when resolving infrastructure-related concerns.
Participate in infrastructure improvements and technology projects, including network upgrades, office expansions, migrations, and system deployments.
Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives by helping maintain reliable connectivity, backup infrastructure, and contingency procedures.
Explore opportunities for automation and development, particularly tools that can improve network monitoring, IT support, asset management, and internal processes.
Stay updated on networking, cybersecurity, automation, and emerging technologies, bringing forward ideas that can improve the company's IT operations.
Growth Opportunities
This position is designed to provide opportunities beyond day-to-day technical support. As the Network Specialist develops within the organization, they may have the opportunity to:
Take ownership of larger network and infrastructure projects.
Develop skills in automation, scripting, AI, and internal system development.
Participate in designing and implementing new IT solutions for the organization.
Lead infrastructure improvement, deployment, and optimization initiatives.
Mentor junior IT personnel, interns, or support staff.
Progress toward Senior Network Specialist, Network Administrator, IT Team Lead, or other IT leadership positions based on performance, technical capability, and organizational needs.
We are looking for someone who does not simply respond to technical issues, but actively looks for ways to make the company's IT environment more stable, efficient, secure, and scalable.
