IT Operations Engineer (macOS)
π IT Systems & Support Engineer (macOS) | Lisbon π
Do you have experience in Internal IT, Corporate IT, Workplace Technology, IT Operations or IT Systems engineering?
Have you worked as hands-on admin of macOS fleet?
Are you coming from SaaS, technology, remote-first or international scale-up environments?
Have you combined support with platform ownership and project work?
Are you looking into having a broad responsibility in a small team?
If you answered "YES" to these questions, this role might be perfect for you!
We're hiring an IT Systems and Support Engineer to join a lean, two-person Internal IT team at a fast-growing, global data & AI education company - 19M+ learners, 6,000+ organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 1000.
You'll work directly with the VP of IT, owning day-to-day operations while building the automation and AI layer that keeps a ~220-person global company running.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS
- Full-scope ownership of Internal IT support across offices and time zones - you drive issues to resolution, not just escalate them
- Hands-on admin of the macOS fleet, identity & access, and the wider SaaS estate
- Real project work: building automations, improving onboarding/offboarding, and contributing to a company-wide AI tooling rollout (Claude is used org-wide)
- Compliance support for ISO 27001 and SOC 2
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- Not a Level 1 helpdesk or ticket-queue role
- Not a Windows-first or Microsoft-centric environment - this is a Mac-first shop
- Not a path to people management - the team stays intentionally small, and this role stays hands-on long-term
- Not remote-only - approx. 2 days/week in the Lisbon office
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Hands-on Apple MDM experience - Jamf Pro and Apple Business Manager preferred; Kandji or Addigy also welcome
- Hands-on identity & access administration - Okta preferred; JumpCloud, OneLogin, or Ping Identity also welcome
- Experience administering a modern SaaS environment (Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, or similar)
- A track record of building automations, not just using pre-built ones - Make, n8n, Okta Workflows, APIs/webhooks, or comparable
- Basic scripting fluency - shell as a baseline, Python is a plus
- An analytical, logical approach to problem-solving - this matters more than any single tool on your CV
- Full-scope ownership experience, not a tiered (L1/L2/L3) support background
- Be based in Lisbon with the independent right to work in Portugal.
NICE TO HAVE
- Startup, SaaS, or scale-up experience
- Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2, or a similar compliance framework
- Curiosity about AI and practical use of it for troubleshooting, documentation, or automation
