IT Operations Manager
Description
About Us
Experience Gold Coast (EGC) is a single, unified organisation that brings together HOTA (Home of the Arts), Destination Gold Coast, Study Gold Coast and Major Events Gold Coast. Formed in 2023, EGC plays a central role in driving the growth of the city’s visitor economy, with a focus on tourism, events, arts and culture, and education. Our objective is to position the Gold Coast as the lifestyle capital of Australia.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced IT Operations Manager to join EGC on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll be EGC’s key internal IT contact, taking day-to-day ownership of our technology environment across HOTA, Student Hub and Broadbeach.
Reporting to the General Manager, Business Services, you’ll provide hands-on technical leadership across IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity and business systems, coordinating issues and priorities with our managed-service provider and specialist suppliers. You’ll resolve and coordinate day-to-day IT needs, provide practical advice on technology improvements, and lead approved projects that strengthen the reliability, security and performance of our multi-site environment.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee IT operations, infrastructure, networks, connectivity and business systems across EGC sites, whilst providing hands-on support, triage and coordination as EGC’s key internal contact.
- Work closely with and coordinate our managed service provider and technology suppliers, ensuring clear priorities, accountability and timely issue resolution.
- Coordinate major incidents, cybersecurity risks, system changes and business continuity arrangements.
- Develop technology roadmaps, identify improvement opportunities and provide clear, practical advice to the business on technology priorities, risks, options and investment needs. Lead approved technology projects and changes, from planning through to implementation, testing and ongoing support.
- Oversee technology procurement, licensing, assets, renewals and supplier costs.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support the adoption of approved AI tools, including Microsoft 365 Copilot.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience managing IT services in a multi-site organisation, including outsourced or co-managed IT environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking, infrastructure, connectivity, wireless and firewalls.
- Experience across IT service management, cybersecurity, cloud services, business applications and technology projects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot and enterprise AI tools, including information protection and user adoption.
- Strong supplier management, commercial, procurement and technology asset management skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into practical business solutions.
- Sound judgement, strong prioritisation skills and flexibility to support critical incidents or implementations outside standard hours when required.
- Relevant ITIL, project management, cybersecurity, networking or Microsoft qualifications are desirable, as is experience supporting venues, tourism, events or other public-facing operations.
