IT Operations & Security Engineer
Summary
Manage corporate IT operations and security for a global SaaS provider. You will administer Google Workspace, manage Mac and Windows device compliance, handle identity and access (MFA), and support the company's ISO 27001 certification program while providing hands-on technical support to a hybrid team.

About the role
This newly created role brings together corporate IT operations and security. You’ll look after the systems our people use every day and implement the controls that keep our devices, accounts and company information secure.
There’s plenty to shape. Our security direction is established and much of the tooling is already selected; you’ll bring it to life through practical rollouts, clear processes and thoughtful support.
You’ll work closely with our security lead and colleagues across People, Support and Engineering. You’ll help establish the operational foundations for our ISO 27001 certification programme and grow into day-to-day ownership of the function.
Just as important as technology is how you work with people. You’ll explain changes clearly, listen to concerns and help colleagues adopt secure ways of working.
What you’ll do
Administer Google Workspace, identity and access, and our wider business applications.
Roll out and manage security controls across Mac and Windows devices, including encryption, patching and device compliance.
Help protect company information on personal phones through mobile application management.
Strengthen MFA, access reviews and credential management.
Manage the technical side of onboarding, role changes and offboarding, working alongside our People team.
Coordinate hardware provisioning, inventory and disposal, alongside application licensing and vendor administration.
Document processes, maintain evidence and support our ISO 27001 programme.
Provide approachable, practical IT support while balancing everyday needs with longer-term improvements.
What you’ll bring
Experience running day-to-day IT operations in a cloud-first business, with ownership of systems and outcomes.
Hands-on Google Workspace administration.
Experience deploying and managing endpoint controls, including encryption, patching and compliance.
Practical identity and access experience, including MFA, provisioning and deprovisioning.
Experience with mobile application management, or relevant experience protecting company data on personal devices.
Sound security understanding and the judgement to apply controls effectively.
Clear communication, a collaborative approach and confidence supporting people through change.
The ability to write useful documentation and keep accurate records.
We’d also value experience with:
ISO 27001 certification or working within a certified organisation.
Apple Business Manager, Iru (Kandji), Jamf or Microsoft Intune.
Microsoft 365 administration.
Scripting or automation.
SaaS licensing and vendor management.
SOC 2, customer security questionnaires or audits.
You don’t need experience with every product listed. We’re interested in the foundations you bring, what you’ve personally delivered and your ability to learn.
