IT Operations & Security Specialist (m/f/d)
You will ensure that our devices, workplace systems and internal applications run reliably and securely. Working closely with HR, you will coordinate IT onboarding and offboarding, manage access rights throughout the employee lifecycle, and help protect company and employee data.
You will have the opportunity to shape our internal IT environment, introduce new tools, and establish processes that support driveblocks as we grow. You will work closely with People & Culture, Finance, Engineering, and management and gradually take on broader responsibility for IT security and compliance.
Beyond day-to-day IT support, you will help us establish scalable security processes, coordinate awareness activities and contribute to our data protection and compliance efforts. This role is ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation who wants to take broad ownership and further develop their expertise in IT operations and security.
The position is initially offered at 35 hours per week, with the option to increase to 40 hours per week in the future.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding hardware, software, accounts, workplace technology, and other internal IT topics
- Set up, configure, and maintain laptops, workstations, mobile devices, and office IT equipment
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and software licenses across our internal systems
- Coordinate IT onboarding, internal role changes, and offboarding in close collaboration with HR
- Maintain an accurate inventory of devices, applications, licenses, access rights, and system owners
- Conduct regular access reviews and ensure that permissions follow internal security standards
- Implement and maintain security measures such as multi-factor authentication, device encryption, endpoint protection, updates, and backups
- Organize security-awareness training and phishing-prevention activities
- Support the documentation, coordination, and escalation of IT security incidents
- Support the operational implementation of data protection requirements
- Maintain IT policies, process documentation, and security-related records
- Support customer security questionnaires, audits and the further development of standards such as ISO 27001 or BSI IT-Grundschutz
- Coordinate external IT service providers and support the evaluation and introduction of new tools
- Continuously improve and automate recurring IT processes
- You have completed vocational training in IT, such as Fachinformatiker:in für Systemintegration, or hold a Bachelor’s degree in IT, information systems, cybersecurity or a comparable field and have already gained 1-2 years of hands-on experience
- You have gained some relevant professional experience in internal IT, system administration, IT support or IT security
- You have practical experience managing user accounts, permissions, devices, and workplace applications
- You understand fundamental IT security principles and know how to apply them in everyday operations
- You approach technical issues in a structured, pragmatic, and service-oriented way
- You can explain technical topics clearly to colleagues with different levels of IT knowledge
- You work independently and handle access rights, employee information, and other sensitive data responsibly
- You communicate confidently in both German and English

Nice to have:
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, MDM, or comparable administration environments
- Familiarity with endpoint management, networks, backups, or identity and access management
- Basic knowledge of GDPR requirements and operational data protection processes
- Experience organizing security-awareness training or phishing simulations
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, TISAX, BSI IT-Grundschutz or other information-security frameworks
- Experience working with external IT providers
- Basic scripting or automation skills
