The Information Technology (IT) department plays a pivotal role in accelerating Daktronics' success by leading the company on a digital transformation journey. In this transformation, IT collaboratively partners with stakeholders to gain insights into their work, challenges, and needs to deliver digital solutions and keep solutions performing well. These solutions enable automation, delight users, and equip users to perform more value-add activities.

What will the work look like for me?

As the IT Operations Specialist, you will be asked to:

  • Serve as the primary IT point of contact for standard Manufacturing work requests, including:
    • Coordinate communication, priorities, and follow-up between IT and Manufacturing teams.
    • Provide on-site support for Manufacturing processes, including:
      • Identify and implement workarounds for Manufacturing work-stoppage issues.
      • Support imaging, backup, and recovery processes for critical Manufacturing systems.
    • Support the security of Manufacturing systems and related technologies in coordination with IT Security.
    • Create and maintain standard practices and support documentation for Manufacturing systems.
    • Coordinate with Manufacturing and IT teams to support new equipment, production systems, and planned system upgrades.
  • Serve as the escalation point for the outsourced IT Help Desk team:
    • Support the IT Help Desk in resolving incidents and fulfilling requests.
    • Develop and coordinate temporary workarounds for work-stoppage issues.
    • Review Help Desk escalations and ensure procedures are followed.
    • Ensure incident resolutions are documented in the case and IT Knowledge Base.
  • Communicate proactively during escalations, provide timely updates, and engage the appropriate teams to drive resolution.
  • Collaborate across IT Infrastructure disciplines, including Server, Network, and Security, to resolve operational issues.
  • Resolve standard work requests by following procedures documented in the IT Infrastructure Knowledge Base.
  • Escalate non-standard or undocumented work requests to the appropriate team members for review and documentation.
  • Escalate recurring work requests to IT Infrastructure team leads for problem review and resolution.
  • Participate in a rotating, week-long on-call schedule to address IT Help Desk escalations and work-stoppage issues involving IT systems and services.

Where is this opportunity located?

The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance of Brookings, South Dakota. While many responsibilities may be performed remotely from a home office, the selected individual must be available to provide scheduled or ad hoc on-site support at the Brookings, Sioux Falls, or Redwood Falls locations, typically one-two (1–2) days per week. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour based on the location of the candidate. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for IT Operations Specialist, we require the following:

  • An associate’s degree is required, bachelor’s degree preferred in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar degree. You will also need to demonstrate experience in the areas listed below:
  • Proven top-notch customer service and IT background.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills showing collaboration with others and building effective relationships.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.
  • Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.
  • Strong organizational skills where you have managed multiple and changing priorities with accuracy.
  • Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft 365 Apps and Windows Operating Systems.
  • The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
