IT Project Manager (large transformation projects)

Our client is looking for a Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of digital products, systems and transformation initiatives. You will work with business stakeholders, technical teams and vendors to deliver projects that improve services and achieve organisational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, execution and delivery, ensuring objectives are met within agreed timelines, scope and budget.
• Manage project resources, dependencies, risks, issues and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including business, product, engineering, design and vendor stakeholders.
• Analyse business and operational challenges, evaluate options and recommend practical solutions.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions, align expectations and drive timely decision-making.
• Monitor project progress, identify delivery risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure appropriate project governance, reporting, quality assurance and operational readiness.
• Drive change management and adoption activities to support successful implementation.
• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes and team collaboration.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in project, programme or product management managing large transformation projects, preferably in the public service division.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across business and technical teams.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing vendors.
• Good understanding of project governance, risk management and change management principles.

Good to have

• Experience in government digital services, enterprise systems or large-scale transformation projects.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
• Experience working with multiple agencies, vendors and technology teams.
• Relevant certifications such as CITPM, PMP, Scrum Master or AgilePM.
