IT Projects Financial Analyst – PMO, Costing, Budgeting & Portfolio Reporting
Toronto, ON - Hybrid (4 Days WFO)
Role Descriptions:
In this role, you will manage financial tracking and reporting for the Caribbean Banking Project Portfolio and support annual planning for Application Development/In Segment budgets. Responsibilities include overseeing project record onboarding, maintenance, and closure; ensuring financial data accuracy throughout the project lifecycle; monitoring portfolio performance against targets; maintaining project minutes, artifacts, and data; reviewing change requests and project capitalization assessments; responding to IT project audits; and preparing Investment Review Board information decks and executive dashboards.
What will you do?
• Monitor and review Application Development/In Segment portfolio performance, ensuring projects maintain budget adherence, accurate financials (actuals/forecast), and correct status tracking (open, closed, cancelled, or on hold). Flag inconsistencies and variances immediately.
• Conduct monthly forecast analysis to identify financial variances and ensure delivery against plan.
• Monitor resource allocations and alert stakeholders if resources are not fully allocated.
• Provide required forecasts to the Personal Banking & Digital Technology team for the Caribbean Banking portfolio.
• Facilitate review and preparation of Investment Review Board (IRB) agendas; document actions and minutes.
• Present materials at the IRB and document minutes/actions.
• Support IRB prioritization and planning sessions with information required.
• Support project audits and assessments, leading the technology evaluation components.
• Maintain accurate Application Development/In Segment spend/forecast/approved amounts in Planview book of records by preparing and uploading data extracts from IT system.
• Prepare monthly portfolio dashboards (financials) and portfolio metrics.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years experience in financial project portfolio management, project finance, or PMO coordination
• Proven experience with financial tracking, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Strong proficiency with Excel, financial reporting tools, and dashboarding platforms
• Experience supporting executive-level reporting and Investment Review Board processes
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies and PMO governance
Nice-to-have:
• Experience in banking or financial services
• Familiarity with Agile project methodologies
• Experience with enterprise project management tools
