IT Release Manager
Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for an IT Release Manager for one of our partners, a leading Digital Bank!
THE ROLE
You shape how the digital bank releases safely and at speed. You will build the controls, evidence and automated pathways that allow teams to deploy independently. For higher-risk or coordinated releases, you will enable the CAB to drive the go or no-go decision based on testing, security, operational readiness and business impact. In a bank being built and shipped at the same time, that judgement is critical to avoiding customer impact and regulatory concern.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and oversee a release process, enabled by automated CI/CD pipelines, supporting 20–30 feature deployments per day.
- Establish risk-based release pathways so routine changes deploy automatically when defined quality, security and operational controls pass.
- Coordinate major and cross-team releases across development, QA, infrastructure, security, operations and business teams.
- Drive the go or no-go decisions as a CAB member for higher-risk releases using test results, defects, security findings and readiness criteria.
- Embed quality, security and audit evidence into delivery pipelines, reducing manual sign-off reliance.
- Ensure production validation is automated where possible, including smoke tests, health checks and critical customer journeys.
- Maintain release calendar for major changes, dependencies, business events and restricted periods.
- Use release and reliability metrics to improve delivery speed, quality and operational resilience.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years in release management, software delivery, DevSecOps or change enablement.
- Experience in continuous delivery, automated deployments, independently deployable services.
- Working knowledge of ITIL release and change management, applied pragmatically within agile and DevSecOps environments.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, modern DevSecOps toolchains.
- A grounding in QA, security testing, performance testing and production readiness.
- Strong judgement in deciding which changes to be automated and which require additional oversight.
- Financial-services and regulatory experience is valuable but not essential.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU
- You want a launch you can point to and know it went cleanly because of how you ran it
- You treat the rollback plan as part of the release, never an afterthought
- You hold the gate when a team is pushing to ship and the evidence is not there
