IT Security Engineer / SOC

Salary: $4,000 – $6,000 per month

About the role

We are seeking an IT Security Engineer with at least two years of experience to help protect our systems, networks and data. The role combines security operations centre (SOC) monitoring and incident response with hands-on security engineering. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, sound judgment and the ability to work with teams across the business to resolve security issues.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs, investigate suspicious activity, and respond to security incidents.

• Assess vulnerabilities, coordinate remediation and verify that identified risks have been addressed.

• Support security assessments, penetration testing and audits, including follow-up on findings.

• Design, implement and maintain security controls across networks, systems and endpoints.

• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures and incident response documentation.

• Work with infrastructure, application and other teams to investigate and resolve security issues.

• Support the implementation and improvement of security tools and related projects.

• Keep current with emerging threats, security technologies and industry practices.

About you

• At least two years of experience in IT security, network security, SOC operations or a related role.

• Experience investigating security alerts and supporting incident response.

• Good understanding of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, endpoint protection and vulnerability scanning.

• Hands-on experience with security technologies such as SIEM, DLP, IAM or encryption.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to document findings clearly and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
