IT & Security Lead
Job Description:
About the Role
We are an established SaaS company in Mexico City, recently acquired by an international corporation. You will own our IT and security function end-to-end — managing a complex technical environment, ensuring operational continuity, and leading key infrastructure modernization initiatives. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and direct impact on how the business operates and protects itself.
Who You Are
You are a self-directed, hands-on technologist who gets things done in messy, real-world environments. You take ownership, sweat the details, and hold yourself to results — not effort. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you're comfortable working within a structure that has both local and corporate expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and harden legacy Unix and Linux environments; maintain operational stability and security posture
- Lead infrastructure migration and technology modernization projects, including cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
- Define, document, and implement IT and information security policies across the organization
- Administer the Azure tenant and Microsoft 365 suite, including Entra ID, Intune, and Defender
- Manage all employee endpoint security: CrowdStrike, Cloudflare, ActZero, and KnowBe4 platform
- Own the full IT employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, asset inventory, and access control
- Deploy and enforce MFA and access controls across all systems and users
- Design, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery (DR) practices; conduct regular testing
- Manage key vendor relationships (hosting, licensing, security services) and associated IT budgets
- Manage and optimize API integrations with external platforms and service providers
- Produce and maintain corporate security reporting for local and parent-company stakeholders
- Implement and enforce network security policies: firewall configuration, VPNs, and network access controls
Must-Haves
- Strong Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu) — required
- Hands-on experience with legacy Unix environments (SCO Unix or similar)
- Experience managing cloud environments (AWS and/or Microsoft Azure) — required
- Azure administration: Entra ID (AAD), Intune, Defender, and Microsoft 365
- Network security: firewalls, VPNs, Cloudflare, secure network architecture
- Endpoint security management (MDM/EDR); CrowdStrike or equivalent tooling
- Experience with API integrations and API management
- Proven experience leading infrastructure migrations or technology modernization projects
- Security policy design and implementation
- Backup and DR design and implementation
- Strong written communication in Spanish; English proficiency is a meaningful advantage
Nice to Have
- Security certifications: CompTIA Security+, AZ-500, CISSP, or equivalent
- KnowBe4 or similar security awareness platform administration
- Experience working within a parent/subsidiary matrix reporting structure
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks
- Business-level English proficiency
Who This Is NOT For
- Pure cloud-native engineers with no legacy Unix experience
- Managers who delegate all hands-on work — this role requires deep individual technical ownership
- Candidates who have not led infrastructure migrations end-to-end
