Summary

A hands-on, sole-contributor corporate IT role at TracPlus in Auckland: running Google Workspace, Mac/Windows laptop fleets, MDM (Iru/Kandji, Intune) and office IT day to day, while rolling out MFA, device and access controls that form the operational foundation of the company's ISO 27001 programme.

Who we are

At TracPlus, we provide tracking and operational intelligence that helps emergency responders coordinate aerial firefighting, search and rescue, and other critical operations around the world.

Our technology connects aviation, land and maritime assets, giving teams the information they need when accurate, timely decisions matter most. We're a growing global SaaS business with around 45 people and customers in more than 40 countries.

We're a small, collaborative team with a meaningful purpose, interesting challenges and a commitment to helping our people grow.

About the role

This is a newly created, hands-on IT role. You'll run our corporate IT day to day: Google Workspace, laptops, accounts, apps, hardware and the office. You'll also roll out the device and access controls that keep it all secure.

You'll be the person who does the work. There's no IT support team underneath this role, so you'll set up the laptops, configure the MDM, offboard the leaver and fix the Wi-Fi yourself, with backup from our security lead and colleagues in People, Support and Engineering.

The tooling is already chosen. Your first year is about deploying it properly: Iru (Kandji) on our Macs, Intune on our Windows machines, a managed work container on personal phones, and tighter MFA and access reviews. That work forms the operational foundation of our ISO 27001 programme.

What you'll do

• Run Google Workspace day to day: users, groups, sharing, licences, security settings and MFA

• Set up, deploy, support and retire Mac and Windows laptops for a team spread across several countries

• Roll out device management with encryption, patching and compliance, and connect device health to access

• Set up mobile application management to protect company data on personal phones

• Handle the technical side of onboarding, role changes and offboarding, working alongside our People team

• Look after hardware inventory, app licensing, suppliers and office IT

• Provide friendly, practical IT support to the team

What you'll bring

• Several years running day-to-day IT in a small or mid-sized cloud-first business, where you owned the systems rather than worked a ticket queue or directed others

• Hands-on Google Workspace administration as your primary platform – this is essential

• Experience personally deploying and managing an MDM such as Jamf, Kandji or Intune, including encryption, patching and compliance

• Practical identity and access work: MFA, provisioning and deprovisioning, access reviews

• Experience protecting company data on personal devices, or something close to it

• A practical grasp of security basics and the judgement to apply controls sensibly

• Clear communication and confidence helping people through change

• The ability to write useful documentation and keep accurate records

We'd also value

• Microsoft 365 or Entra admin (we run a small tenant alongside Workspace that needs tidying up)

• ISO 27001, SOC 2 or customer security questionnaires

• Apple Business Manager

• Scripting or automation

• SaaS licensing and vendor management

You don't need every product listed, but hands-on IT operations and Google Workspace administration are the foundations we can't train for.

This role might not be for you if...

• Your background is mainly security, GRC or audit rather than running IT yourself

• Your admin experience is mostly Microsoft 365, with little Google Workspace

• You'd rather lead or direct an IT team than be hands-on

Why join TracPlus?

• Meaningful work: your systems support a team whose technology helps emergency response and public safety

• Room to shape your role: build the processes and systems you'll go on to own

• Five weeks of annual leave, including our additional "TracPlus week"

• Southern Cross health insurance: full cover for permanent employees

• Professional growth: work closely with experienced leaders and gain hands-on experience of an ISO 27001 programme

• Hybrid working from our Auckland CBD office, with regular office attendance for hands-on hardware work and team support

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now.
