This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, C4 Systems Directorate (J6).
As a IT SPECIALIST (APPSW/DATAMGT) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: The incumbent of the position serves as the senior manager within DTRA J6D who plans, develops, implements IT software and hardware concepts across the systems in the DSMS program office. This includes Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS), DIAMONDS Accountability Training System (DATS), Nuclear Inventory Management and Cataloging System (NIMACS), Joint Nuclear Weapons Publication System (JNWPS), Government Acceptance Testing System (GAT), DIAMONDS Energy eXchange System/Network (DEX), and Joint Application Design Environment System (JADE) software applications. Activities include, but are not necessarily limited to support of data architecture in software development, integration, storage, and retrieval of data from both the legacy and modern DSMS and DEX systems, and modernization of our software distribution and maintenance processes. Responsible for general and technical oversight of all data management tasks related to developing and maintaining data resources as related to the DSMS system, complementary systems, and support systems. Formulates short and long range plans, coordinates and integrates a wide range of activities and allocates resources in order to complete software projects. Manages the DSMS and DEX SDLC process, and oversees the work of government and contract employees performing such duties as assigning work, determining SDLC staffing needs, and assuring economical and efficient utilization of resources.
