IT SPECIALIST (APPSW)

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.

Analyzes functional and technical requirements of proposed or existing IT systems to determine avenues of development of modification necessary to meet mission objectives.

Participates in systems requirement reviews, code and design reviews, and coordinates with customer/functional representatives and other technical personnel to clarify requirements.

Prepares design documents and participates in critical design reviews to study and verify impact on current systems.

Prepares and executes tests for system subsystem software validation.

Designing, architecting, and maintaining enterprise-grade solutions using modern technologies and frameworks, including Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, DevSecOps pipeline tools, SQL and familiarity with cloud service catalogs.
