IT SPECIALIST (APPSW)

This position provides for development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and modification of major finance and/or accounting automation information systems to meet user needs and systems requirements.

Analyzes functional and technical requirements of IT systems to determine avenues of development or modification.

Participates in systems requirement reviews, prepares system change/programming specifications, and specifies programming instructions to document the functional and technical requirements.

Identifies alternative approaches to the design of current or proposed systems and identifies how system modifications or new systems or subsystems affect current systems.

Prepares and executes tests for system or subsystem software validation. Reviews test results for effectiveness in meeting specifications and takes necessary corrective actions based on testing results.
