IT Specialist cum Lab Tech - ABE Cainta
About the role
We are seeking an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech to join AMA Computer College Inc. in our Cainta Rizal campus. This is a full-time position that combines technical IT expertise with laboratory management responsibilities. As an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our technology infrastructure, supporting our academic programs, and ensuring our computer laboratories operate at peak efficiency. This position is essential to delivering quality education and maintaining the technological backbone of our institution.
Key responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and related hardware across campus facilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of computer laboratories, ensuring equipment is functional and available for student use
Provide technical support to staff and students, troubleshooting hardware and software issues promptly and professionally
Perform regular maintenance, updates, and repairs on IT infrastructure and laboratory equipment
Monitor network performance and security, implementing preventative measures to protect institutional systems
Maintain accurate inventory records of IT hardware, software licenses, and laboratory equipment
Assist in the setup and support of computer laboratories for academic coursework and examinations
Document technical issues, solutions, and system configurations for future reference and training purposes
Collaborate with academic departments to ensure IT systems meet educational requirements and learning objectives
Train and support staff members on the proper use of laboratory facilities and IT resources
What we're looking for
Certification or qualification in Information Technology, Networks and Systems Administration, or a related field
Proven experience in IT systems administration, network management, or laboratory technical support
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and network infrastructure
Experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, and basic network administration
Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems
Familiarity with laboratory management systems and educational technology environments
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical support to non-technical users
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and records
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond promptly to technical issues
Preferred: Experience with virtualization technologies, server management, or educational institution IT support
