About the role
We are seeking an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech to join AMA Computer College Inc. in Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that combines technical expertise in networks and systems administration with hands-on laboratory support. As IT Specialist cum Lab Tech, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our technological infrastructure whilst providing essential technical support to our educational environment. This position is pivotal in ensuring our systems run smoothly and our laboratory facilities operate at optimal efficiency, directly supporting the academic mission of our institution.
Key responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain computer networks and systems infrastructure across the college campus
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues
Manage and oversee laboratory equipment and computer resources, ensuring all systems are operational and secure
Monitor network performance and security, implementing preventative measures to protect systems
Conduct regular maintenance and updates on all IT infrastructure and laboratory computers
Assist with the setup and management of user accounts, access permissions, and security protocols
Support faculty and students with technical assistance and provide training on laboratory equipment usage
Maintain detailed records of IT assets, maintenance schedules, and system configurations
Respond promptly to technical incidents and resolve issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and improvements
What we're looking for
Proven experience in networks and systems administration, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a similar role
Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and network infrastructure
Proficiency in configuring and managing network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls
Hands-on experience with server management and system maintenance
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve technical issues efficiently
Knowledge of IT security best practices and data protection protocols
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and patience when providing technical support to non-technical users
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are advantageous
Familiarity with laboratory management systems and educational technology environments is preferred
